Eric Brecher is an attorney and Executive Vice President for Chicago Deferred Exchange Company. He holds the Certified Exchange Specialist® designation and has over 15 years of experience as a Qualified Intermediary. Eric works with attorneys, accountants, and realtors along with their investor clients to defer federal capital gains tax, state income tax, depreciation recapture tax, and net investment income tax using Internal Revenue Code Section 1031. He has been involved with thousands of IRC Section 1031 exchange transactions including forward-delayed, reverse, improvement, and personal property exchanges. Eric was admitted to the 2nd Appellate Division in New York in 1997. He serves as a co-chair of the Federation of Exchange Accommodator’s annual conference committee and has previously served on its Board of Directors. Eric graduated from Quinnipiac University School of Law and Boston University’s School of Management. He lives in Woodbury, NY with his wife and 3 children.
