Associate Licensee Definition

An associate licensee is a real estate licensed salesperson or broker who works under and is subject to the supervision of another primary or qualifying broker and operates in the capacity as a salesperson.

Explanation

Associate real estate licensees must affiliate with a licensed real estate brokerage company in order to conduct business and operate in the capacity as a salesperson.

Each brokerage company also must have a qualifying broker or primary broker who supervises and is ultimately responsible for all of the salespeople and brokers “associated” with the brokerage.
